Now, in fifty years, we've gone from room-size to palm-held computers; is it so unlikely that a Leela-class AI which took up 1/3 of the Marathon's network could fit in a cyborg's onboard systems a couple hundred years later? Cortana certainly complains about how "cramped" it is, which does indicate that he's in a surprisingly small network. Also, we don't know that rampant AIs need a large network to survive, only that they really really want one. Rampant AIs are obsessed with expanding their own intellects, but there's no reason to believe that they die without such expansion. Traxus IV, for instance, was destroyed by having his host net shut down, not by being prevented from expanding into other networks. --SiliconDream
