Well, it's talking about becoming God, it's capping on both humans and the Covenant, it's throwing in random sarcastic literary references, it has a very negative attitude toward loyalty, religious fervor, and a conscience (not that those should all go together), and it's talking about "more than a cart and plow over the bones of the dead." What sort of AI would be intentionally programmed to do this? And if it's not rampant, why is it the enemy of the Covenant and yet not the ally of the humans; who created it? I mean, even without psychoanalyzing it, compare its speech to Leela's and M1 Tycho's. Then compare it to Durandal's and that of the Tycho of M2 and Moo. Which group of AIs does it remind you of? As for whether it's in your head or not, no, there's no evidence that it is. But in spite of the fact that you're just "one of the guys" in this game, why would you not get to be the one with a superintelligent AI sharing your brain? If one of you has to have it in their head, the player ought to get to be the special one. Unless the guy possessed by Cortana goes crazy and becomes the primary villain in the game. But that would be stupid, and Bungie doesn't do stupid. --SiliconDream
