Marines are cyborgs. In marathon, you could call a cyborg a marine, and a marine a cyborg. They were one in the same. Also, in the movie, we saw those cyborgs. Plural. There were more than one. All of them were cyborgs. This would also lead me to believe that the marines are cyborgs... All we really know now is that a transport ship landed on the halo, and now everyone is stranded there. In the mean time, to keep themselves occupied, they find out about the lost tech, and go hunting for that. As for the alien weapons being better than the humans weapons, we really can't infer that from anything. My theory is that this "transport ship" that they were on was inbound to another human colony that was under atack by the covanent, but iether A) Something happened and they crashed on the halo, or B) they were inbound to another colony under atack but recieved new orders to land on the halo. I can't say for sure, but those are just some possibilities. If iether of these were the case, they would have adiquate enough weapons for facing the covonant, atleast on a ground to ground bassis, because they knew what they were up against, and aperently found that standard weaponry worked well enough against them, otherwise they would have copied the alien weapons to use against them. I still believe that the halo is just another battle ground (albiet a major one) in a larger war. This would explain the "billions die" part in the pc gamer article... And the use of the word "transport" ship also implies something... I'm lead to believe that the humans had recently found out about the halo, or otherwise they would have sent a larger force to capture it. Then we would have heard transport shipS. On another note, does anyone know if the marathon had a sister ship? And nathan, is that pc gamer article more or less accurate, or something that pc gamer made up to fill in the text slots?
