I think that Halo, as a RTS game, would have made a much cooler game. Although action games are fun, The third-person floating camera behind the character effect is not the best way to display Halo's superior graphics. I think that a camera with fully rotatable and zoomable capabilities, combined with the visuals I have seen in the screen shots would create an awe inspiring war scene. If Halo were a RTS that is exactly how the camera would have to be. What will the gameplay for this third person game actually be like? All the screen shots that i have seen seem to me like they are from cut scenes. I want to know what a fighting scene will be like. Personally, I haven't enjoyed a third person shooter since Metal Gear Solid hit PSX. I think that the controls for a third pereson shooter are extremely akward, especially on the PC, and hittong a target becomes next to impossible without auto-aim.
I saw the screen shots for the game before I read anything about the game. And from the screen shots, I developed at least two innovative ways, in MY mind, that the developers could have made the game play. And I'll tell you, third person shooter was not either of them.
It disappoints me that developers could come up with a graphical engine far ahead of its time and waste it on garbage. With luck, Epic can salvage the engine and develope a game worth while.
