Spell out something? It seems rather unlikely, but it might work. The Mayan 74 kind of throws a wrench in this theory, but then again, we can't figure out what the heck that thing in glyph 5 is.
Hmmm.... Maybe we're supposed to literally play a game with these. Have you ever messed around with those logic puzzles for kids? Some involve flipping the order of plastic disks on a track, and the trick is to order them a certain way. Perhaps these glyphs involve the same sort of idea? Each central symbol may tell us how we need to reorder the chain. Once we get it right, we'll be able to see something. Or perhaps the numbers around the edge tell us how to reorder them, and the central glyphs spell out the answer.
