Okay -- here's one thing I tried, which works so far to get _ _ _ _ B O X. The cardinal topmost number, we'll call it x, is the number of times you need to count. The logical one o'clock position, is where you start counting FROM. z is your destination number.
So, with G5, we need to count 15(x) times, starting from 51 (one o'clock position). Result, working CW, is 2 = B for G5, 15 = O for G6, and 24 = X for G7.
No dice on G1-4, though.
By the way, I don't think any ROTs will be required -- again, too many unknowns, and Chelsea/Claude couldn't have foreseen 3of9's excellent "cipher tool."
