In Response To: Summarizing a couple of ideas (Luigi)

I agree that the Beale cypher is the way to go. Assuming this is true, logically, the body of text HAS to come from a term in arrival.

Much to the detriment of my productivity at work, which has taken a dip recently, I've played around with some ideas. Here are the results. (btw, can SOMEONE please solve this ^%*%(*^% puzzle so I can stop obsessing about this?)

•At first, I figured that the perhaps each glyph would be taken from each terminal in succesion.

Pros - between arrival and bigger guns nearby, there are seven terminals -- the eight is never burn money.

Con - there's one terminal on arrival that's all garbage.

So scrap that.

The next step might be to find a logical space to work from, textually speaking. It so happens that if you take the first term (the glorious "today, at..," and start counting at "***INCOMING MESSAGE FROM LEELA***," count all the way to the end, you get... 112 words.

Just so that others don't have to go through this, I'm posting my findings here:

Here are the glyph's numbers, with appropriate words:

So far, to use my old college roomate's fave expression, all I had was jack and sh*t, and jack just left town. :)

Another way to count it is in this manner:

Again, you end up with a neat 112 words. Again, my research came up with garbage. Either searching for full word meanings, or initials comes up with nothing. The advantage of this technique is that it includes the zeroes.

One more thing. When folks are figuring out how to make the words work, there are three ways, imho, to "count."

1) Linear, clockwise, G1, from 1 to 8, then to G2, etc...

2) Non-linear, by Glyphs' section, i.e., from one o'clock G1, to one o'clock G2, and so on, until you return to two o'clock G1, etc.

3) Enigma machine/rotor style. Start at G1, find a correspondent word on G2 that makes sense with G1, and rotate and lock G2 so that the positions fit. Rinse, repeat.
