This one might be the one.

The "C" shape and the "I" shape, as has been illuminated to me by a poster I can't remember today (sorry! I had to read 100 or so posts today!), could be two possible cross-sections of a construction beam. If that certain beam were to be cut straight down the middle a certain way, probably usually "width-wise," you'd get the "C" or "U" shape. If that certain construction beam were to be cut any way length-wise, you'd probably see an "I" (or "H") shape, depending on perspective.

Now there may be a twist, but given how the letters in the end, apparently, must make sense, here's my "tacked-on" reasoning...

Either cross-section you look at, you'll be able to come back to the original item if properly informed as to how it was cut.

One particular construction beam has the above qualities.

The "I"- beam.

So perhaps G1 = "I."

(I'm _not_ thinking "H" since there aren't any "H" beams to my knowledge)

Again, if this turns out to be right, I again take no credit. I was merely working with all of the ideas of those who thought of this before me : ).
