You're still missing a few factoids. This puzzle is not from Bungie Studios. It's from Bungie.org, the fan site. The prize however, is in some way being 'assisted' by the folks at Bungie Studios.
So your post's subject tag: "Thanks for confusing us, Bungie. :P" is confused itself.
