"One in a hundred" could = 1/100.

Improper fractions? 1/100 = 10/1000.

Oddly enough, the numbers in the dial can be used to make 1/100 in this way:

(75-41-24)/(20 x 50) = 10/1000 = 1/100. (19, 37 and 62 remain unused.)

This _is_ probably coincidence, and if I were me, I wouldn't give it much thought either : P. But hey, what the heck ; ).
